ABQ 66 Events Center [Albuquerque, NM] : The proposal for this mixed-use development included a convention center, hotel, retail space and residential units. An existing north-south rail line, which bi-sects the site, was designed to become a pedestrian platform with the architectural style and character of a train station shed. A sub-surface parking garage made the site accessible and above grade pedestrian spaces and linkages promoted a walkable development. Indigenous themes were abstracted and incorporated into the design language of the exterior spaces and buildings in order to respond to the local surroundings and culture.

Brett Payton was involved in all facets of this project while with a previous firm.
