Westover Residence : PLAID’s design solution for this colonial estate prescribed a series of well-conceived outdoor spaces seamlessly integrated with the architectural style and functions of the building. The spaces accommodate a range of family activities, and include a casual gathering area with outdoor kitchen and overhead pergola; a large dining plaza; and a semi-private space with fire pit, outdoor sculpture, and twin pergolas. The material palette of limestone, bluestone, and brick (for walls, columns, paving, and steps) extends the building materials into the site. New plantings provide spatial definition and seasonal interest throughout the property.
